The Port Stephens Family and History Society takes pride in creating meaningful connections to our past. We’ve recently launched a heritage trail walk, and we’re inviting locals and visitors alike to explore our region’s rich history.

Membership Fees

  • Single membership: $50.00
  • Family membership: $65.00
  • Optional Joining Fee: $10.00 (incl. Starter kit)

What am I entitled to when I join?

Members enjoy full access to all society holdings. Please note that computer discs are not available for borrowing. Additionally, certain selected books are marked as non-borrowable to ensure their preservation and availability for all members to reference within the Society’s premises. These resources are available for use whilst in our meeting room.

When should I pay my fees?

Our annual membership fees, are due on 1 July and are subject to proportional fees after September. Join us today and play a vital role in helping PSFHSI celebrate the history of Port Stephens.

How can I submit my application form?

To complete your membership you can:

  • Download a form & post or present your form at the meeting room Old School Centre; or
  • Complete the online registration form below & submit the online form.

Payment can be made by one of 2 methods:

  1. Pay in person by cash on any research day at the Old School Centre 10 am-12 am
  2. Pay by bank transfer to PSFHSI BSB 637-000 Account No. 781377945 please reference your name and add “membership”.

The Societyโ€™s Research material covers local, Australian, and International resources. The Societyโ€™s Resources include BD&Ms, Cemeteries, Census & Musters, Electoral rolls, and Convict Indents to name a few. A small sample is listed below.

Meetings

Meetings are held every Thursday from 10.00 am – 12.00 pm and on Saturday by appointment. The society is not open on public holidays.

Our research room is located in Kenneth Parade, Lemon Tree Passage (opposite the Lemon Tree Passage Bowling Club car park & entrance).

Our meeting room is in the Lemon Tree Passage Old School Centre.
